After discovering Traffic Exchanges in 2002, the traffic to my website increased 100 times. I thought I had hit the magic button for the jackpot. People were visiting my small informational website. What I learned very quickly, the average Traffic Exchange member at that time and on the Traffic Exchanges I belonged too, were interested only in the Internet Marketing niche. I am a writer. My site was about writing. Yes, I had found a valuable tool but not for my niche.
The Writing and Publishing world didn’t have a traffic exchange. There was no way for the small author, publisher, or new literary agent to be seen other than lots of hard work. Sometimes that work paid off, other times it didn’t. This is the sole reason for Author-Exchange Promotional Services. Author-Exchange has combined the magic of the traffic exchange and the usefulness of a blog to assist our members in getting the niche traffic they deserve.
Originally, the traffic exchange was developed to exchange website traffic between like-minded small business people. You see my offer, I see yours. We’re both small and can’t afford huge budgets to advertise to the masses as our A-list peers and big publishers do, so we exchange business instead. Author-Exchange was developed to exchange website traffic between authors, small and large publishers, as well as literary agents and readers. You see my releases, I see yours. You see what I am accepting in submissions and I see what and how you write. You see what I offer and I see what you offer. With all those win-win situations being created, there should be a few sales in there for each of you, too.
By adding the blog, this created another way for our members to advertise themselves and link back to their own sites. Unfortunately, very few people are making use of this offer. There are many things a member could blog about, whether it is their new release, new service of editing, where they will be book signing or a blog tour, or something they have learned in their career as a writer.
Write your article, include the information below, and submit it through the support ticket area on the website.
All blog entries need to have:
If you do not have a book in print or ePublished at this time, then list your website and author name/pen name. Get your site seen. Get your following established. Use Author-Exchange to help assist you with this mission. It is never to soon to get started.

This morning, I met the man behind this phenomenal resource for quality traffic. Actually I wrote him a fast email and asked how this would help me since all his links are ‘nofollow’. He was very nice about my rant and explained to me how ‘nofollow’ links are useful and how ‘dofollow’ links can get you banned from Google who decides if you’re allowed to have them or not. I’m to much of a 60′s child to not have that irritate me, here the establishment of younger cyber geeks are telling me what I can or can not do! Whoops! Back to the topic at hand: quality links that benefit you and others.
Mr. Len explained I needed to read the ‘Search Engines‘ page. A fellow traffic exchange owner, Don of Horror Movie Hits has been using ZeriouZ Partners sometime before October 2009, and when Yahoo Search has “horror movie hits + zeriouz”, Yahoo shows that Don’s site has over 3,000 back links. Alexa shows he has over 90. To say the least I am impressed.
This system is free. You get to promote your ‘add my link’ to your site and your signature, so others will click on it and connect to your site. Then it snow balls. I paid my $7 to this Australia based company. My $7 allows me to be advertised on the ZeriouZ website and have my URL placed so others can choose to connect to it. Take your time to check this site out, and add the code to your front page. I chose links that are relevant to my own site giving my link and theirs more clout in the ‘nofollow’ world.

Today I quote a post from the Franklin Electronic Publishing, please read it in its entirety here: Franklin Publishing
Blurb:
Education experts are optimistic about the nation’s first eBook classroom
at Dayton’s Resurrection Catholic School and about the learning potential
this pilot program offers students. Ted Nellen, Carnegie Fellow and renown
“Cyber-English” teacher from New York’s Murry Bergtraum High School,
expects to see improvements in the learning process for schools
implementing the eBook system.“Since the eBooks are portable, students can take them anywhere and learn
on an individualized level,” said Nellen. “School districts in every
community are always under pressure to perform and to be fiscally
responsible,” said Nellen. “So there are some obvious bottom-line benefits
for the school, including savings in paper and book costs – but what’s more
critical is the need for progress in teaching and learning methods.” Nellen
believes companies like Searchlight and Franklin are paving the way for
what he sees as a major advance in the administration of education and the
transfer of knowledge. “I think the eBook can be a big part of the
solution.”
Digital Press is here to stay.

Blogging buddies are similar to guest bloggers, joint venture blogging, only with a twist. I blog about marketing and promoting, my friend Claudia is a graphic designer and I introduce her to a publisher friend. Their relationship is mutually beneficial with Claudia helping them with book covers and they in-turn recommend her web-design to up and coming new authors as a choice over a generic template.
When you blog with other like minded people, your circle of influence becomes wider. Blog joint ventures becomes easier and you get more exposure. Of course the more exposure you receive the more people realize what you have to offer. Who is in your circle of influence? Are you helping each other to your mutual benefit?
Think about it! Do you utilize your blogging resources?
A-E whispers: who wants to network?

Maybe I didn’t make myself clear, SPAM will be deleted.

Is leaving comments on other folks blogs still beneficial with the ‘nofollow’ rule? With many blogs the ‘nofollow’ rule is automatically written within the code. What this means to you, who leaves the comment and your URL, is the search engines do not follow your link. It is not counted as an in-link to your website. It does not bolster your page ranking or help you in any way with SEO.
This has been a topic between marketers and codes for years. There are those people who will spam your blog with incoherent comments, spam links, false emails, and who knows what which only adds to cyber clutter. Currently, there are a couple of plugins for WordPress blog and replace the ‘nofollow’ with the ‘dofollow’ rule.
Author-Exchange is a ‘dofollow’ blog. We want to help our members by being able to provide back links to your website. Many spammers will try to abuse this, and I will trash their comments. It is very important to comment about the post, making it clear you have read the post and are replying specifically to it. This adds more content to my blog and my thanks to you is to allow your link to your website.
If your link is to an affiliate site you belong to that is not writing or publishing related, write your comment explicitly. Short tags, which I call hit and run, will be deleted. Do NOT use keywords as your name, you will be deleted.
Authors, small press, new agents, new writer services this is YOUR way to help your site receive back links.
For those of you who are interested in the topic of ‘nofollow’ blogs here are a couple of useful blogs: http://www.catswhoblog.com/leaving-comments-on-other-blogs-still-a-valuable-technique and http://myblog2day.com/10-fire-blog-tips-that-push-your-blog-to-next-level.php and the archives of Cats Who Blog – http://www.catswhoblog.com/archives

Here are 3 ways using twitter for building a list can save you money and increase the chances that your messages are being read by the intended recipients.
Less Effort and Money to Generate Traffic
You can actually build your list with Twitter by gather contact information (followers) thus saving you effort of traffic generation. As anyone marketing on the internet knows generating traffic takes a lot of effort and even money. Using twitter for this purpose allows you to also enjoy yourself as you are making friends when you are collecting contact information for promotional purposes.
No Need for Auto Responder
Twitter can actually deliver your messages (tweets) and there is a better chance they will get read and not blocked or disregarded as spam as is the case with email. How many of your email messages do you think actually gets read by your intended reader? More times than not they are either ignored or simply redirected to the spam box. On twitter your messages (tweets) can not be placed in spam and are displayed for all your followers to see and read.
This essentially eliminates the need for an auto responder system and the corresponding costs that goes with it.
Easier to Interact
You can actually interact and in ‘real’ time with your opt ins (followers) thereby making your messages more effective. If you send a tweet to which somebody has a question they are more likely to ask for an answer and you are in a better position to answer it in a more timely fashion. These questions and answers also help to further build a relationship with people and this can help increase the effectiveness of your future marketing efforts.
Hmmm, let’s see, using twitter can save you money and increase the likelihood of getting your messages read when you are building a list. Seems like a no-brainer!
When marketing on the internet it always makes smart business sense to build a list so you can maintain contact those who have expressed an interest in your business. You work hard to generate traffic therefore building an opt in email list of folks who visited your site can save you effort and money in the future. By using twitter in the way discussed above you can further increase your savings by eliminating the need for a squeeze page and auto responder. This approach also greatly increases the odds of your messages getting read and not lost in the black abyss of spam. The 3 advantages you can experience by adopting this system to collect and manage your email contacts are hard to ignore. When you consider that it will cost you nothing there appears to be little risk for you to start building a list using twitter today!
