Traffic Exchange Discovery

After discovering Traffic Exchanges in 2002, the traffic to my website increased 100 times. I thought I had hit the magic button for the jackpot. People were visiting my small informational website. What I learned very quickly, the average Traffic Exchange member at that time and on the Traffic Exchanges I belonged too, were interested only in the Internet Marketing niche. I am a writer. My site was about writing. Yes, I had found a valuable tool but not for my niche.

The Writing and Publishing world didn’t have a traffic exchange. There was no way for the small author, publisher, or new literary agent to be seen other than lots of hard work. Sometimes that work paid off, other times it didn’t. This is the sole reason for Author-Exchange Promotional Services. Author-Exchange has combined the magic of the traffic exchange and the usefulness of a blog to assist our members in getting the niche traffic they deserve.

Originally, the traffic exchange was developed to exchange website traffic between like-minded small business people. You see my offer, I see yours. We’re both small and can’t afford huge budgets to advertise to the masses as our A-list peers and big publishers do, so we exchange business instead. Author-Exchange was developed to exchange website traffic between authors, small and large publishers, as well as literary agents and readers. You see my releases, I see yours. You see what I am accepting in submissions and I see what and how you write. You see what I offer and I see what you offer. With all those win-win situations being created, there should be a few sales in there for each of you, too.

By adding the blog, this created another way for our members to advertise themselves and link back to their own sites. Unfortunately, very few people are making use of this offer. There are many things a member could blog about, whether it is their new release, new service of editing, where they will be book signing or a blog tour, or something they have learned in their career as a writer.

Write your article, include the information below, and submit it through the support ticket area on the website.

All blog entries need to have:

author’s website URL
author’s name or pen name
book titles
where to purchase the book(s)

If you do not have a book in print or ePublished at this time, then list your website and author name/pen name. Get your site seen. Get your following established. Use Author-Exchange to help assist you with this mission. It is never to soon to get started.

We accept book reviews. Each review should have a paragraph about the heroin, hero, story line without the spoiler, and your likes or dislikes. An ideal paragraph should have no less than three sentences. Author-Exchange will incorporate the star system with five (5) stars being the best of the best and one (1) you would only use it as training paper for your new pup.

Include:

genre
sub-genre if it applies
more than one genre or sub-genre if it applies
a rating (use the Movie equivalents P/PG/PG-13/R/X)
publisher
format (print, digital, digital formats)

Non-rated will not be accepted.

Military Mixer – Romantic Times Convention

Not only did we have the Mortician’s conference and the Vampire Ball in the same building, we also had Ellora’s Cave publications outside of the United Methodist Bishops conference. The universe had a sense of humor that week. The book fair had no less than 1,000 people standing in line waiting for the doors to open. Some participants brought their favorite book for the author to sign, while others had suitcases on wheels waiting to pounce on the bargains of autographed books. Whether your passion is thriller (Barry Eisler and J. A. Konrath) or Inspirational romance (Patricia Simmons), your genre was present and possibly your favorite author.

After the book fair, Kathryn Falk and her husband, Kenneth Rubin attended the Military Mixer. Cindy Carver, USN 76-79, aviation machinist, opened the mixer with the Star Spangle Banner sung by the Agape International Choir. Each branch of the service was then recognized as their anthem rang through the air and active duty, retirees, and veterans were presented with a token of thanks for their duty. A standing ovation was given for these American Hero’s. Joan Causey discussed her role with the Air Force Defense and presented a two star coin to Jesse Wiseman. Unfortunately, I am unable to recall Wiseman’s rank in the Army, and for this I apologize.

Kathryn Falk spoke about SOS America, Inc. explaining how the company provided a place of healing for military families and was almost self sufficient. Kathryn and Kenneth presented Jesse Wiseman with a certificate for his achievements and volunteer work at RT for the past years.

While we are in pre-launch mode, I will be adding a word within the newsletter which will allow you to earn bonus credits for your account. The word might be an author’s name, writing tool, or title of a book.

January and Starting All Over

2010 came in smooth and then kicked us all over the place. Now, after wonderful support from our webhost, RyleeJames.com, and our graphic designer, Sunflowers and Seagullswe are off to a grand start.

According to astrology, the first part of this month was a Mercury Retrograde. It may have begun in December, but when it got its claws into our website in January it hung on for dear life. Not releasing its death grip on our site until late last night, January 15.

We’re up and moving forward. Those of you who know me, I’m not happy unless I’m moving forward. I do try to have fun no matter the situation. I can honestly say, Russ at RyleeJames.com and Claudia at Sunflowers and Seagulls helped keep the sanity while our site fell apart. The resurrection will be amazing.

Stay tuned for there is more to come.
